Montreal - Points of View
Our permanent exhibition, Montreal - Points of View, presents the evolution of our city through 10 different facets of its history, from its earliest residents, before the arrival of the Europeans, to the city of today with its métro and skyscrapers. The tour will take you back in time to witness the development of Montreal through a selection of artefacts and photographs from the Museum's vast collection.

Cartooning Calamities!
On the 21st day of the 12th month, 2012, the end is coming... or so they say. This tour provides a one-of-a-kind view of calamities big and small, as seen through the eyes of Canadian editorial cartoonists. Selected from the McCord Museum Collection, the exhibition features more that 175 original editorial cartoons, complemented by cartoons in electronic format. From Aislin and Chapleau to Garnotte and Collins, the cartoonists provide their own take on wars, notable deaths, the trials and tribulations of the Habs... and other calamities!

Edward Curtis - Beyond Measure
Edward S. Curtis (1868-1952) embarked on a project to photograph North American Aboriginal peoples. For the first time since acquiring them 50 years ago, the McCord Museum publicly presents 30 photogravures produced between 1907 and 1930 and taken from the encyclopedia The North American Indian. The tour also features an overview of the history of photography, from the first experiments in writing with light to photography's contribution to contemporary art.

Mimmo Jodice - Sublime Cities
Renowned Italian photographer Mimmo Jodice (1934- ) travels the world to capture the essence of its major cities. For the first time in Canada, the Museum presents more than 50 of his urban landscapes, including some of Montreal taken expressly for the exhibition. The tour also features an overview of the history of photography, from the first experiments in writing with light to photography's contribution to contemporary art.

Education Behind the Scenes
Schools are long-time partners of museums, and we work hand-in-hand to provide student teachers with a behind the scenes look at the McCord Museum Education Department. This visit enables future teachers to explore the many educational opportunities we offer. To help them understand an exhibition from the perspective of a school visit, we unveil the many ways history can be interpreted within a museum context.

Aboriginal Dance and Drumming
This one-of-a-kind look at objects that have defined the way of life of Aboriginal peoples over time provides insights into their reality during the 19th and 20th centuries. Visitors gain an appreciation of the vitality of their cultures and are introduced to traditional dance steps to the rhythm of drums.
