Toys 3
Custom-designed for children and reinvented every year, this exhibition celebrates the playful world of toys from many different eras. In the workshop, the students create a toy in connection with the exhibition's themes.
Length : 120 minutes - November 2012 to May 2013

Storyteller, Tell Me a Story
Through different objects, legends come to life in a museum, revealing historical facts and popular beliefs that are intensified and embellished by the imagination. In the workshop, students create imaginary creatures using a paper-folding technique and pastel crayons.

It Comes but Once a Year
It's a time for telling our stories, enjoying our traditions and celebrating winter! Various objects inspire memories of the Holiday season and stories from home and farther afield. Students will make a seasonal ornament in the workshop. "Come, 'tis the season!"

Aboriginal Dance and Drumming
A look at the reality of the First Nations in the 19th and 20th centuries to get an understanding of the vitality of their cultures. To the rhythm of the drum, you can try some traditional dance steps, make an ankle rattle and observe objects from their traditional way of life. The commentary for the activity is adapted to the group's grade level.

Panorama: Photography, Past and Present
From daguerreotypes to digital images, students are presented an overview of the history of photography. Inspired by the earliest experiments in writing with light and by photography's contribution to contemporary art, students create a photomontage in the workshop. The commentary for the activity is adapted to the group's grade level.
