Description
This page comes from the diary of Henriette Dessaulles of Saint-Hyacinthe, a record she kept from 1874 to 1881. Her diary is part of the Dessaulles Family Fonds, an extensive assortment of archives that document the literary, political and domestic life of this distinguished family, whose members included Louis-Joseph Papineau and Louis-Antoine Dessaulles. The diaries of Henriette Dessaulles, which have been published twice, provide insight into the character of a remarkably perceptive adolescent who would later contribute a regular column to Le Devoir.
