Disasters and Calamities, 1840-1867
Introduction
Nathalie Lampron, 2003
Are the great tragedies that marked Canadian history more than simply disasters that destroyed everything in their wake? Beyond the ruins left by the destructive event, what remains?
This tour provides an overview of Canada of the era so as to highlight the most important disasters. Eight tragedies are presented in chronological order, from 1840 to 1867, each accompanied by three or four pictures or evocative objects. Good viewing!
