Activities to be done on-line
Try the suggested Web activities to make the most of the resources and tools available on this site. All of the suggested activites and additional historical resources are linked, primarily through a material and social history angle, to the period in Canadian history from 1840 to 1945.
One activity is for elementary students (grades 5 and 6), the other activities are for secondary school students, grades 7 to 12.
There are five types of suggested activities:
- the learning and evaluation situation;
- the description of images;
- the documentation of photos, caricatures, or vintage objects;
- the photographic essay;
- researching a past phenomenon on either a topic of choice or suggested inquiry idea.
All activities involve: 1) consulting the images databank; 2) using an online creation tool, the images folder, which can be viewed as several visual presentations; 3) presenting the work, and seeing it published on the Museum's website. In order to publish the work on our site, please e-mail us.
