Thom, A. B.
A. B. Thom was a photographer from Winnipeg. In 1884, he formed a partnership with Fred V. Bingham to found the Bingham & Thom photography studio. The partnership lasted two years.
Thom then must have become a photographer for the Canadian Pacific Railway: some of his photographs are signed "A. B. Thom, Official Photographer of the CPR, Winnipeg." Known for his majestic scenes of the Prairies and the Rocky Mountains, Thom also photographed aboriginal groups and small towns along the railway line in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta as well as in the Rockies, from 1880 to 1900.
