Glass Slides (1870-1930) and Adult Education at McGill University
This set of approximately 150 images represents a selection of glass slides used in illustrated lectures offered at McGill University. The set is made up mainly of glass slides used for the first lecture at McGill, titled "Across Canada by CPR." Also included are slides from the lecture titled "The St. Lawrence River."

- Photographs of ships and trains owned by Canadian Pacific, of tourist attractions, of views of cities, industries and agricultural landscapes in Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes, the Prairies and Western Canada;
- Photographs of cities and towns along the St. Lawrence River in Quebec, as well as rural scenes and people at work;
- Magic lantern.
